Free Wine, Cocktails and Music this Evening...TGIF!

Morning Everybody...It's Friday - What's happenin'??

You can kick off your weekend with the Marketplace at Armstrong Park today from 3:00 to 6:00 pm.....featuring local fresh produce, seafood, arts and crafts and bring your dancing shoes cause the Treme' Brass Band is gonna be there too!!!

After work head on down to Cocktails & Conversation with Jean Knight & DJ Soul Sister from 5:30 pm to  8:00 pm at the Louisiana State Museum at the Cabildo in Jackson Square....Soul sounds from DJ Matty in the courtyard kick off the event at 5:30 pm, Soul Sister and Jean Knight chat from 6:00 to 7:00 pm, followed by cocktails and music till 8:00 pm....Admission is free, as are drinks!  What a great way to kick off the weekend!!

You can also get your evening started off right with a little wine tasting and art opening at Swirl (3143 Ponce de Leon) with the Friday Free for All from 6 to 8:00 pm.   Nick Selby from Uncorked Wines kicks off our Bastille Day celebration weekend with 4 great French wines.

It's a Threadhead Friday night at Chickie Wah Wah  with Paul Sanchez and Sonia Tetlow at 8:00 pm for a super fun evening!  And I know there's gonna be some yummy food too!!

If you're thinking about heading down to Frenchmen Street...there's lot of music to hear!

d.b.a.'s (618 Frenchmen) has two bands tonight that will get you up and dancing...you got the Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 6:00 and stay on for Corey Henry & Tre Muzikat 10:00 pm!

Right down the street you have another trio of shows at BMC (1331 Decatur)...with Sasha Masakowski at 7:00 pm, Fredy Omar con su Banda at 10:30 pm, Medianoche International at 1:00 am...(hey, now it's Saturday mornin'!)

Head on down to the Maison (508 Frenchmen) at 7:30 for Some Like it Hot...and you'll appreciate the great drinks and the NO COVER and stay on for Mia Borders at 10:30 and there's a late show with Jeremy Phipps and The Outsiders at Midnight!

And for those of you hanging out Uptown don't forget it's Free Fridays at Tipitina's (504 Napoleon Ave.) with Friday with Walter "Wolfman" Washington & The Roadmasters...show starts up about 10ish...you gotta love the Wolfman!

And this is Saturday event...but is starts up at 8:00 am...so you gotta make your plans for the tribute to San Fermin in Nueva Orleans (the Bull Run)....the "run" un-officially begins at 7 a.m. at the Three Legged Dog bar located at 400 Burgundy Street in the French Quarter...There's gonna be Sangria, Stella Artois beer, Spanish wines and good cheer!!!  So watch out for those Roller Bulls!!!
