TGIF w/Courtyard Concerts, Seersucker and Bayou Fun!

Hurray for Friday and what a beautiful day it is!!

Cut our of work a little bit early for the "Bon Operatit! on the Balcony Series" celebrating "The Sound of Music" from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the Upper Pontabla, 520 St. Peters Street - Cost is FREE!

After the balcony concert head down the street for Concerts in the Courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection....What a treat this is (and beautiful weather!).....Experience a concert in the courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection in the heart of the French Quarter - 533 Royal Street. The show is from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with Feufollet...A rising group from Lafayette whose name translates to - crazy fire - Blending rock, country, and Cajun music!!! Admission is $10, FREE for THNOC members, and includes 3 complimentary cocktails from Old New Orleans Rum!! Guests must be 21 or older to enter and memberships begin at the low low price of $65.00 per household.

It's time to dress up in all your seersucker finery for Sippin' In Seersucker tonight!! It's an evening of Southern Art, music, cocktails, cuisine, fashion and shopping! Don your best seersucker ensemble – or summer chic – for this party that kicks off the summer social season. Hosted by the Shops at Canal Place, the event benefits the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. Party goers will enjoy complimentary hors d’oeuvres from local restaurants and luscious libations; shopping specials; raffles; and entertainment by Los Hombres Calientes. RAFFLES! include: Entertainment, Shopping, Be at Tourist in Your Own Hometown, Wine, Indulgence and the Kohlmeyer Circle Art package Seersucker Ensemble Contest (yes, prizes are awarded!) There's lots of good times on the Bayou!  Start off your evening with a wine tasting at Swirl on Ponce de Leon (right of Esplanade) at 6:00 pm and right down the street at Fairgrinds Coffee House you got Lips and the Trips at 7:30 pm...you don't want to miss Lips - it's going to be a great show!!

And there's more wine on the Bayou! It's Vino on the Bayou at The Pitot House (1440 Moss St.) from 5:30 to 7:30 pm. Come enjoy the May Vino on the Bayou wine tasting event tonight, featuring author Robert Jeanfreau signing his new book The Story Behind the Stone. Musical entertainment by The Courtyard Kings and beautiful weather! $5 admission for Landmarks members and $10 general admission. Wine selections are donated by Cork & Bottle Fine Wines, located in the American Can Company on Orleans Ave.

The Bayou Boogaloo starts up at 5:00 pm on the banks of Bayou St. John (and Orleans Ave.) with a full weekend, of music, food, art and the "Derby Duck Race" for Second Harvest this Sunday.
