Satchmo, Seafood and White Linen...Tonight!

Good Morning Everybody,

If you can't find a way to entertain yourself today, you have to be a person who despises really good music, food  and art!  Cause if you're in NOLA right now...there is a lot of really good stuff going on today to make you happy!!

First we got the all the Satchmo Summerfest!!  Here's just a portion of the music and events going on today the fest starts up around 9:00ish with a Big Butter and Egg Man Brunch!!...click the above link for all the good stuff!!

And if you're looking for more air conditioned fun and a big cooking contest....you need to head down to the Convention Center (all the way to the end by Mardi Gras World)  For the 2010 Great American Seafood Cook-off!!   The event kicks off at 11:30 am 'til 4:00 pm...Your host, local chef  John Folse, will be there to guide you through this culinary contest!!!

And of course tonight is the night for breaking out your Whitney White Linen and cruising down Julia Street around 6ish...and there's an after party at the CAC (900 Camp St.)... Check out the White Linen link for all the amazing art and music going on this evening...

And there's also some great art on Magazine Street this evening...check out the opening of the Sibley Gallery's (3427 Magazine) new sculpture garden from 4:00 to 8:00 pm....and Poet's Gallery (3113 Magazine)  from 6:00 to 10:00 is having an amazing exhibition showing the works of Jason Hawkins, Christopher Kirsch, Kristin Littwin Gile, Billy Corcoran and  Christopher Morrison-Slave.

And if you're heading down the Avenue, St. Charles Avenue that is be sure to stop in the  Piano Celeb-Entertainer, Armand St. Martin, who's performing this Saturday night from 7:00 to 10 pm (or later!) at the Bayou Bar at the Pontchartrain (2031 St. Charles Ave)...no cover for this fun evening!!
