Wine Tasting Fun!

Vino!

It's the weekly wine tasting over at Pearl Wine Company (Orleans at Moss St.) - from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Come out and taste Hook and Ladder wines before you buy. Rolls n' Bowls will have their Spring Rolls from 5:00 to 9:00 pm and stick around for DeSoto Street Band at 8:00 pm!

And you can double your wine tasting fun! Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm. Antonio Molesini of Republic National and Chris Noyes of Winebow Imports are pairing up for a killer tasting of Italian wines this Friday, and be sure grab one of Chef Walter's Italian themed small plates!

If you're Uptown head on over to Martin's Wine Cellar (3500 Magazine)....They'll be serving up some lovely wines from 4:30 to 6:30 pm!

Gleason Gras!

Former Saint and veritable hero Steve Gleason loves music, and the annual Gleason Gras features performances by Galactic, Anders Osborne, John Micheal Rouchell and other local rockers.  Come on down to Champions Square for an evening of great music and food! Admission for the event benefiting the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation’s ALS awareness efforts and the Gleason Family Trust is free, but VIP tickets are available here!



Great Music!

Head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) in the heart of Mid-City for an amazing show with Paul Sanchez and Friends including Arséne DeLay, Antoine Reynaldo Diel singing the songs and John Herbert playing harmonica on the songs of Paul Sanchez at 8:00 pm! And be sure to stay on for the band COOT at 10:30 p.m. Don't miss it - and be sure to come hungry for a sammich!

If you're craving the funky sounds of Egg Yolk Jubilee then get yourself down to the Bayou Beer Garden (326 N. Jeff Davis).  The party kicks off at 9:00 pm!

Beer and Racing!

It's the 2nd Annual Tails & Ales presented by Abita Beer! This tasting will feature more than 100 beers from around the world and will be held in the Club House at the New Orleans Fair Grounds over looking the paddock and the track! In addition to sampling some great brews you will get to experience live quarter horse racing!! The event is from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm. General admission is $35. $70 VIP ticket includes a “VIP Hour” from 3:00-4:00 pm, with premium beer tastings and food. Tickets are limited - fans are encouraged to purchase in advance here

It's an evening of amazing art and music at the Sibley Gallery (3427 Magazine St.). Please join us in celebrating the photography of Roland Guerin. Special performance by Roland Guerin and Wess 'Warm Daddy' Anderson, it's going to be a fabulous evening!!!

Hooray for Boudin and Beer!!

Boudin and Beer is tonight!! Celebrate boudin, beer, bourbon, and boots as New Orleans plays host to Emeril Lagasse's 2nd Annual Boudin and Beer, a food and music festival celebrating all-things Louisiana at The Foundry (333 St. Joseph) from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. The charity bash, presented by Abita Beer and sponsored by Buffalo Trace, is hosted by Emeril Lagasse and honorary co-chairs Mario Batali and New Orleans' own Donald Link. Fifty of the country's hottest chefs from San Francisco to New York, with several of New Orleans' top chefs represented, will be cooking up their take on boudin, with plenty of craft brews from Abita Beer. Dancing to the music of Drake White, Feufollet and Red Stick Ramblers. The event benefits the Emeril Lagasse Foundation. Tickets are $85 - for more info click - www.boudinandbeer.com

It's time to party in the swamp for the Louisiana Swamp Festival as the Audubon Zoo celebrates Louisiana Cajun culture and heritage through education and entertainment all weekend long. This family-oriented festival gives visitors insight into the Cajun way of life through cultural demonstrations, music, food and crafts. The weekend salute to Louisiana's Bayou country at the Zoo features hands-on encounters with live Louisiana swamp animals and special animal feedings.  Plus an incredible musical line-up!

Join the Louisiana Hospitality Foundation Sunday for the 2nd Annual Gleason Gras from Noon to 8:00 pm at Champions Sqare (right next to the Superdome). The purpose of the event is to raise awareness for ALS and to support the Gleason Family Trust. The Gleason Family Trust is set up to help offset the incremental costs of living with ALS. Contributions go toward Steve Gleason's participation in advanced and experimental technology, equipment and treatments.
