Tuesday Fresh Veggies and Good Music!

Happy Tuesday!

Farmer's Market!

You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood.  Today for the Green Plate Special they welcome New Orleans' first and only solar-electric food truck, Empanada Intifada. We're looking forward to empanadas including "The SaSquash" (local squash, carmelized onions and sharp cheddar cheese), "The Bean-a Vista Social Club" (cuban-style black beans with fried plantains and local jasmine rice) and "The Mestizo Meat Pie" (a fusion of a traditional empanada and a Natchitoches Meat Pie). Save room for dessert, because Empanada Intifada is debuting their "Sweet Thai Peach Pie" empanada.......Yum!

And if you want more fresh veggies the Hollygrove Market has a new pick-up location and hours for Tuesdays 12 pm-6 pm - No need to pre-order when you visit the market!  Pick-up at Rosa F. Keller Community Center (4300 Broad @ Napoleon Ave.) and on most Tuesdays they're cookin' up all these delicious fruits and veggies in the Community Center Kitchen.  So come in for a taste, and great recipe ideas for all this delicious fresh food.
