TGIF w/Wine, Art and Music Everywhere!!

Hooray for Friday!!

Wine Tastings!

Hooray for wine!  It's the weekly wine tasting over at Cork & Bottle (Orleans at Moss St.) - from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.  Come out and sample some fantastic wines and the tasting wines are always 10% off!

And you can double your wine tasting fun in Mid-City! Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm. 

Night at the Museum!

Check out The Where Y'Art? party this evening over at the New Orleans Museum of Art beginning at 5:00 pm and celebrate the weekend!  The event is FREE with museum admissions. $10 Adults, $8 seniors, students, active military, $6 children ages 17 to 7, children 6 and under are free.

•5pm to 8pm: Art Making Activity with New Orleans Photo Alliance
•5:30pm to 8:30pm: Music by Sasha and Steve Masakowski
•6pm: Gallery Talk with NOMA’s Assistant Director for Art, Lisa Rotondo-McCord: Leah Chase: Paintings by Gustave Blache III
•7pm: Art You Can Eat: Haley Bittermann, Executive Chef: Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group with guest, Chef Leah Chase: The Soul of New Orleans – Modern twists on New Orleans classics and other family-friendly comfort foods (Reservations Requested)

Get on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for happy hour with Gallivan Burwell & His Predatory Drifters from  5:00 to 7:30....PLUS Beth McKee at 8 and top off the night with The GooNOLA's at 10:30!  Be sure to come hungry for delicious pizza and more!

And there's more good music in Mid-City (almost Uptown) over at Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) with Roddie Romero and The Hub City All-Stars at 9:30 pm!! Remember if you eat at Ye Olde College Inn right next door you get a discount to the show! Happy rockin' and bowlin'!

Let the Carousel Lounge in the Monteleone Bar (214 Royal) spin you around with some happy hour music with the Robin Barns Trio at 5:00 then the swinging sounds of Lena Prima at 9:00 pm.  It's a cool place for some fun and fancy cocktails!

You can get started early at the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) with Ben Polcer at 4:00 pm, Washboard Chaz Jazz Trio at 6:00 pm, and the New Orleans Cottonmouth Kings at 10:00 pm.

d.b.a.'s (618 Frenchmen) got a double header with The Meschiya Lake & The Little Big Horns at 6:00 pm, and stay on for the Alvin Youngblood Hart's Muscle Theory at 10:00 pm...there's only a $5 cover!

Right down Frenchmen The Maison (508 Frenchmen) is going to rock out to some awesome Ska & Brass music at 10:00 pm The Local Skank kicks the night off, followed by touring Ska band, Ford Theater Reunion at 11:00 pm. Then at 1:00 am The Lagniappe Brass Band takes over to rock the party til' the early morning! And upstairs starting at 8:30 pm, be sure to check out the FREE Friday Night Comedy Showcase hosted by Jackie Jenkins Jr.! At 11:00 pm make your way to The Penthouse to get your weekly Latin Dancing fix with The Buena Vista Social Latin Dance Party!

And check out the fresh new Frenchmen Art Market while you're strolling down Frenchmen Street this evening!  The market is right next door to the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) and runs Thursdays through Sundays from 7:00 pm to 1:00 am (yes, 1:00 am - for all you late night shopping owls!!)

Top off the evening with a FREE show at 10:00 pm over at Tipitina's (501 Napoleon) it's Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs plus Mia Borders!
