Friday Fun w/Wine, Music and a Concert in the Courtyard!!

Hurray for Friday and what a beautiful day it is!!

Start off your evening with a wine tasting at Swirl on Ponce de Leon (right of Esplanade) at 6:00 pm and right down the street at Fairgrinds Coffee House you got Lips and the Trips at 7:30 pm...you don't want to miss Lips - it's going to be a great show!!

Cut our of work a little bit early for the "Bon Operatit! on the Balcony Series" celebrating "Nola Navy Week" from 4:00 to 5:00 pm at the Upper Pontabla, 520 St. Peters Street - Cost is FREE!

After the balcony concert Head down the street for Concerts in the Courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection....What a treat this is (and beautiful weather!).....Experience a concert in the courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection in the heart of the French Quarter - 533 Royal Street. The show is from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with Anais St. John...FUN!!! Admission is $10, FREE for THNOC members, and includes 3 complimentary beers and sparkling wine from Southern Eagle.!!! Guests must be 21 or older to enter and memberships begin at the low low price of $35.00 per household.

Navy Week in New Orleans continues all week long - featuring a colorful spectacle of ships spreading on the East Bank of the Mississippi River from Erato Street to Upper Poland Avenue. Additionally, the Navy's famed Blue Angels will perform a memorable air show as part of the week's festivities.  For a complete list of all the fun events click: Navy Week

Check out The Where Y'Art? party this evening over at the New Orleans Museum of Art starting at 5:00 pm with Gallery & Exhibition Tours, lots of fun activities and music!! The event is FREE with museum admissions. $10 Adults, $8 seniors, students, active military, $6 children ages 17 to 7, children 6 and under are free.
This Friday NOMA is celebrating two exhibitions, Earth Day, and National Poetry Month!
Opening Friday of What Is A Photograph? 
*5 pm to 8 pm: Earth Day Art Making with Craft Mafia
*5 pm to 8 pm: Found Poetry Art Making with Press Street
*5:30 pm to 8:30 pm: Music by Robin Barnes

*7 pm: What is a Photograph?: Tour with curator, Russell Lord

You still don't know what to do?

Head on over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) for happy hour and a triple header of music withthe Pfister Sisters from 5:30 to 7:30, then Shamarr Allen and the Underdawgs 8:00 to 10:00 and then, The Geraniums! The kitchen is back open so come hungry for delicious pizza and such!

And there's more good music in Mid-City (almost Uptown) over at Rock 'N Bowl (3016 S. Carrollton) for Beth McKee plus Lynn Drury at 9:30 pm!! Remember if you eat at Ye Olde College Inn right next door you get a discount to the show! Happy rockin' and bowlin'!

You can get started early at the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) with Smokin' Time Jazz Club at 4:00 pm, Washboard Chaz Jazz Trio at 6:00 pm, and the New Orleans Cottonmouth Kings at 10:00 pm.

Right down the street you have another trio of shows at BMC (1331 Decatur)...with El the Orazio and Friends at 3:00 pm, Peter Novelli Band at 6:00 pm, and Dana Abbot at 10:00 pm!!

d.b.a.'s (618 Frenchmen) got The Hot Club of New Orleans at 6:00 pm it's FREE, but don't forget to tip the band!! And stay on for George Porter Jr. and His Runnin' Pardners at 10:00 pm...there's a $10 cover, but you don't want to miss the show!!
