Saturday Christmas Fun and Woopin' Some Dogs!!

Christmas is in the air and it's time to start celebrating!  We're sure to be doing some celebrating tonight when the Tiger's beat down them Bulldogs!!

Start your Saturday off with a shopping spree on Magazine Street with Merriment on Magazine!!  The Street presents its annual fun-filled and relaxed shopping extravaganza today! You’ll find something perfect for everyone on your list. Plus, you’ll find plenty of unique, New Orleans-themed decorations for your home, and endless holiday treats! Storefronts will be decked out for the holidays and many will be offering sales, refreshments, entertainment, contests and even free workshops! Most shops stay open till 9 pm for your convenience. Bring the whole family to enjoy!

Head on down to Canal Street at 1:00 pm for the Krewe of Jingle Parade - Back for its fourth year, New Orleans’ official holiday parade, the “Krewe of Jingle,” will once again delight locals and visitors alike with authentic parade floats, marching bands, stilt walkers, Christmas characters and many more magical surprises! After the parade, all are invited to join in the merriment at The Roosevelt New Orleans hotel’s Baronne Street entrance for the “Jingle Mingle”—this block party will transform the block into a wonderful wintery wonderland with music, games, food, crafts and more!

There's more Christmas fun in the French Market with the St. Nicholas Day Fair and Christmas Parade (1008 N. Peters).  It's a family festival in Dutch Alley with music, children's activities, photos with St. Nick and a parade down Decatur Street at 2:00 pm and to top i off  holiday music in the New Orleans Jazz National Historical Park from Noon to 5:00 pm!  For more info visit www.frenchmarket.org


While you're having fun in the Quarter make sure you make plans for the Louisiana Music Factory's (210 Decatur) in store concerts today! Robert Eustis at 2:00 pm, The Help at 3:00 pm and Luke Winslow-King at 4:00 pm!

If you're looking for a place to watch the LSU game with a thousand of your closest buddies - then go no further than Champion Square to cheer on the Tigers!!  The fun kicks off at 1:30 with food drink, and music - bring your own chair so you can hang out all day and watch your champs tear up them bulldogs on the gigantic screen!!  GEAUX TIGERS!!

After the big LSU win there's gonna be some great music tonight!!

It's time for birthday celebrating at Tipitina's (501 Napoleon) with the WWOZ Birthday Bash tonight at 9:00 pm with Big Sam's Funky Nation plus The Treme Brass Band!!  (there's a cover - but don't miss out on the fun!)
