Buongiorno and Happy St. Joseph's Day Eve!!

BUONGIORNO!!

So glad it's Friday........really glad :)  Another fun spring weekend in New Orleans and there are lots of things to do - so let's get this party started!!

St. Joseph's Altars

For starters - click on the ALTAR link and don't forget to check out the Times-Picayune classifieds (today and tomorrow) for more altars at local residences - I think those are always the best!!

Friday Evenings at Swirl

This is always a fun way to start off the weekend.  Check out Swirl located on Ponce de Leon right off Esplanade and enjoy a FREE wine tasting at 6:00 pm.  Once you've tasted one of their excellent choices you'll be sure to be buy a bottle!

You say - you still don't know what to do???  There's even more fun!!

Concerts in the Courtyard of the Historic New Orleans Collection

What a treat this is.....Experience a concert in the courtyard of the Historic New Orleans Collection in the heart of the French Quarter - 533 Royal Street.  The show is from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with the New Orleans Moonshiners...FUN!!!

Admission is $10, FREE for THNOC members, and includes 3 complimentary beverages (Abita Beer and Wine from Republic National)!!!  Guests must be 21 or older to enter and memberships begin at the low low price of $35.00 per household.

This what I'd be doing if I was out tonite!!!

Head over to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) early for happy hour with the Pfister Sisters at 5:30 p.m., and be sure to stay on for an amazing show with Paul Sanchez and friends at  8:00 pm, round off the night with Joan Caddell and the Midnight Choir at 10:00!!!

Check out d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) in the Marigny with their no cover show at 6:00pm Hot Club of New Orleans jams in the house and at 10:00pm (there is a cover) Johnny Vidacovich Trio with Matt Perrine & Keiko Komaki roll in for a funky show!

And if you're looking to dance the night away, you have to go on over to the one and only Rock 'N Bowl - it ain't free, but it's well worth the dinero....show starts at 9:30 with Kermit Ruffins and the BBQ Swingers!!!  And remember if you eat next door at Ye Olde College Inn you get a discounted ticket to the show!

Make sure you're listening to WWOZ 90.7 from 11-2 pm for the Louisiana Music Party...it promises to be an amazing show with my hubby Bill deTurk!!
