Good Morning Everybody,
I'm pretty sure I know what most of ya'll will be doing between the hours of 3:00 and 6:00 pm, but there is other stuff going on to.
There's a FREE Birthday party going on at the New Orleans Museum of Art - NOMA is turning 100 - with lots of fun stuff to do before the big game!! Here's the schedule....
11am - Opening Remarks
11:30 am - New Orleans Ballet Theatre begins Lakme and Broadway performer singing
11:30am- Art-making activity begins
Noon - Cake cutting and coffee from Cafe du Monde
12:15pm - Tour of Great Collectors/Great Donors by John d'Addario
1pm - Symphony Chorus on steps in Great Hall
1:30pm - Sculpture Garden Tour by Pamela Buckman
2pm - Opera a la Carte in the Sculpture Garden (in case of bad weather, Opera will be in Auditorium)
4pm - Art Activity ends
4:30pm - Last admission
Celebrate the Battle of New Orleans Anniversary - "The British are coming, the British are coming" to the Chalmette Battlefield to commemorate the Battle of New Orleans. Walk through British and American camps, listen to generals planning strategy, soldiers swapping stories around campfires, and women wondering what fate has in store for New Orleans. Over 100 living history experts share stories of the War of
1812, fire cannons and muskets, and bring the era to life. Also check out the Kid's Camp where the little ones can make pirate and military hats, play period games, and try on military uniforms. End the day with lunch or dinner at Rocky & Carlo's Restaurant. The kids will love it!

Watch the Saints game on Decatur near Canal and take some great music breaks along the way at the Louisiana Music Factory (200 Block Decatur) with a great triple header of in store concerts!

TGIF with Wine, Song and Football!!!
TGIF for real!! I am sooo ready for the weekend!! GEAUX TIGERS and GEAUX SAINTS!!
What's happenin' this Friday night??
If you're looking for a couple of wine tastings after work....head on down to Cork & Bottle (3700 Orleans) at around 5ish for some great wines....then make your way over to Swirl (3143 Ponce de Leon) at about 6 for another round of wine tasting, and check out their tapas bar too for some great food!!
After you get your wine on...you need a place to watch the big Cotton Bowl game...so, check out your favorite haunt and plan on doing some celebrating with some music afterwards. (or during the game!)

Head over to the Carousel Lounge at the Hotel Monteleone with John Autin at 9:00...spin around the bar and listen to some great music too!

It's Carnival Time...Parades, Parties and Po-Boy-Citos!!
Carnival time is upon us and there's quite a few fun things you can do to celebrate!!
Gather round the Willow Streetcar barn (S. Carrolton at Willow) at 6:30 to toast the Krewe of Phunny Phorty Fellows....They'll be some music by the Storyville Stompers and a toast to the Krewe for the big sendoff at 7:00 pm! Bring your own libations, or grab one at Carrollton Station right on the corner!!
If you're thinking about heading to the French Quarter on this beautiful evening...check out the Third Annual Joan of Arc Parade....12th Night is St. Joan's birthday and this is the perfect way to celebrate her birthday. The parade gets kickin' at 6:00 pm at the Jean-Baptiste Le Moyne, Sieur de Bienville statue and park at Conti and Decatur and ends at the golden Joan of Arc statue at the New Place de France at Decatur and St. Phillip Streets at approximately 6:45 p.m. The parade route goes along Chartres Street, crosses Jackson Square, and continues past St. Louis Cathedral to the other side of Chartres to St. Phillip Street.
If you're not in the mood for a parade and looking for some great music...you've got your options too!! Head on down to The Ogden Southern Museum of Art today for Ogden after Hours. Music starts up at 6:00 pm with the boogaloo sounds of Los Po-Boy-Citos!!
And if you're looking to help out some amazing animals and celebrate the evening...then don't miss the fun at the 12th Night Annual Fundraiser for ARNO Shelter tonight from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm at The Creole Gardens Bed and Breakfast Hotel (1415 Prytania St. parking in lot Thalia and Prytania)....a $20 ticket gives you chance at the grand prize: RCA 37" LCD TV and Theatre Setup; great raffle prizes: hotel packages, artwork, photographs, riverboat dinner cruises, and more!! Happy Hump Day and 12th Night Eve!!

Sugar Bowl Celebratin'!
Happy Tuesday Everybody,
Celebrate the Sugar Bowl with all kinds of good things!!
You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!!! Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 to 1:00 pm and pick up some fresh seafood, veggies and you can even get some lunch! Greg and Mary Sonnier of Gabrielle at the Uptowner kick off another year of local chefs committed to cooking with local ingredients this today....On the menu: turkey gumbo, pulled pork with white beans & greens, smothered red cabbage and sweets...yummy!!
Once you've filled up on some great fresh food....celebrate the Sugar Bowl over at Champions Square from 4:30 to 7:30 pm with the Fan Jam!! They'll be entertainment by MoJeaux Entertainment: MoJeaux....and lots of fun activities....food samples, interactive blow up games, face painters, Allstate interactive display, and giveaways!!!

Stay in the Warehouse District and head on over to the Howlin' Wolf "Den" (901 South Peters) for the 9:00 pm Brass Band Blowout with the Hot 8 Brass Band...You'll be jammin' all night!
You also need to go by the Circle Bar tonight...rumor has it they'll be closing (just for a bit) for some renovations. So, go party down at the big blowout tonight with The Happy Talk Band + O.L.D. + Rik Slave and The Phantoms + Felix!!! The fun gets going at 10:00 pm...If it's an early evening for you go by at 6:00 pm for Micah McKee and Friends!
