Happy Tuesday with Fresh Food, Red Beans and Wine, and Lots of Music!

Farmer's Market and Fresh Food!
You can get your day started off right with a trip to the Farmer's Market!  Visit the Crescent City's Farmer's Market at University Square (200 Broadway) from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm for the freshest veggies, fruits and seafood.This month the Market welcomes La Cocinita food truck to the Green Plate Special. This week choose from elicious tacos, arrepas, and more. This week’s specials include a "The Healthy Bowl" with brown rice, black beans, roasted butternut squash, corn & sweet pepper relish, & roasted garlic sauce. Finish up with a piece of tres leches cake and a glass of watermelon-lime agua fresca or horchata (cinnamon rice milk).  Lunch doesn’t get much tastier!

Come celebrate Red Bean Tuesday with Pearl Wine Co. (3700 Orleans). Red beans and rice will be served up every Tuesday from 6:00 to 10:00 pm (or until they are gone). Bring on the beans and there will be a couple of wine pairings on special for $6 per glass too!

Good Music Tonight!

Enjoy some fancy cocktails on the Avenue at the The Columns (3811 St. Charles Ave.) at 8:00 p.m. tonight!  Relax on this lovely Tuesday evening and enjoy the music of - John Rankin plus upright bassist Jesse Boyd!

Get your self to Mid-City and to Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal St.) for the lovely sounds of The Honeypots tonight at 8:00 p.m. and make sure to come hungry for a sammich!

Come out to Yuki Izakaya (525 Frenchmen) on Frenchmen Street tonight as two super talented musicians, Arsene DeLay & Paul Sanchez play together and trade some songs too -  they kick things off at 8:00 pm!

Right down the street the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) has a triple header with no cover - Andy Forest at 4:00 pm, Antoine Diel & The New Orleans Misfit Power at 6:00 pm, and top off the evening with the Shotgun Jazz Band at 10:00 pm!

There's more fun on Frenchmen over at d.b.a. (618 Frenchmen) with the The Treme Brass Band at 10:00 pm - there's a $5 cover for the show - but you know you don't want to miss it!

Top off the evening over at the Maple Leaf Bar on Oak Street...with the REBIRTH Brass Band - they come on around 10:30ish - there's a cover, but you'll be glad you paid and stayed up late!!

Saints Celebratin' with a Musical Monday!

And while your Uptown - Enjoy some cocktail porch sippin' over at the Columns Hotel (3811 St. Charles)....Tonight David Doucet of fame BeauSoleil performs at 8:00 pm!

Chickie Wah Wah (2828 Canal) has a great Monday night show with Phil DeGruy at 8:00 pm and NO Cover!  Be sure to come hungry for some delicious pizza and other Italian goodness from Garage Pizza!

Lots of fun around Frenchmen Street!

BMC (1331 Decatur) has a great early show at 6:00 pm with Lil Red and Big Bad...then stay on for the next show at 9:30 with Smoky Greenwell's Blues Jam!!

Be sure to make a stop by the Spotted Cat (623 Frenchmen) early for this great line-up of music...Sarah McCoy at 4:00 pm, Dominick Grillo and The Frenchmen Street All Stars at 6:00 pm and be sure to stay on for either Kristina Morales and the Bayou Shufflers at 10:00 pm!

And stop into Snug Harbor (626 Frenchmen) for one of the longest running performers in NOLA - It's Monday night with the Charmaine Neville Band at 8:00 pm - Yes, there's a cover, but Charmaine is worth every penny!  While your there get a Monsoon (watch out their dangerous) and one of the best burgers in town!

To top off you're evening....you gotta go Uptown and over to the Maple Leaf (8316 Oak) for Papa Grows Funk at 10:00 pm - they'll get your Monday night funked up -remember there's a cover - but it's worth it!!!

Wednesday w/Elephants in the Streets, Hurricanes and Lots o' Music!

Happy Summer - Let's celebrate!

Circus Parade!

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus presents - The Crescent City Summer Celebration Parade TODAY at 11:00 am - The second annual Crescent City Summer Celebration Parade will roll through downtown and begins at the intersection of Girod St. & Loyola Avenue. This amazing event is free and open to the public and will feature exotic animals and appearances by Ringling Bros. Ringmaster Brian Crawford Scott, clowns and performers. Guests will also have a chance to win FREE tickets to opening night by catching some of Ringling's exciting throws!

*The parade will commence at the New Orleans Arena and travel down Girod Street, turn left on Carondelet Street, down Poydras Street to Sugar Bowl Drive and conclude on W Stadium Drive back to the New Orleans Arena. As the parade comes to the end, a "watering" event will be held at the Loyola Avenue and Poydras Street intersection where spectators will have a chance to see how Ringling keeps its largest and most pampered animals cool in the summer heat. Don't miss all the fun!!

Wednesday Fun!

Celebrate  the first day of Summer in the French Quarter at Pat O'Brien's (718 St. Peter)!!  Pat O's is havin' a Beat the Heat Party with half price Hurricanes all day!  Now that's one good way to stay cool.

TGIF w/Courtyard Concerts, Movies at the Museum & Lots of Music!

Wine and Concerts!

Start off your evening with a wine tasting at Swirl on Ponce de Leon (right of Esplanade) at 6:00 pm and right down the street at Fairgrinds Coffee House you got Lips and the Trips at 7:30 pm...you don't want to miss Lips - it's going to be a great show!!

Head down to the Quarter for the spring season finale performance for Concerts in the Courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection....Experience a concert in the courtyard at the Historic New Orleans Collection in the heart of the French Quarter - 533 Royal Street. The show is from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with Creole String Beans...In true south Louisiana style, the Beans mix swamp pop and classic R&B. The band includes Rick Olivier (guitar/vocals), Rob Savoy (bass/vocals), Brian Rini (organ/vocals), and Bryan Barry (drums), with Derek Huston (baritone sax) and Travis Blotsky (tenor sax)!! Admission is $10, FREE for THNOC members, and includes 2 complimentary champagne cocktails from Cafe Amelie! Guests must be 21 or older to enter and memberships begin at the low low price of $65.00 per household.

Another Night at the Museum!

Check out The Where Y'Art? party this evening over at the New Orleans Museum of Art starting at 5:00 pm with Gallery & Exhibition Tours, lots of fun activities and music!! See below for the night’s scheduled events. Admission: $6 for adults : Children (17 & under), free : $3 for NOMA/NOFS/Members (No more than 4 discount tickets may be purchased.) No outside food or beverages will be permitted. Please bring a blanket (recommended) or folding chair for seating.
